1 Hyde Park Street
The existing lift shaft was totally enclosed reducing the light in a very small stairwell
The problem was that the shaft depth was no more than 1200mm, width was ample
In the depth of 1200 we had to accommodate a structure to carry the lift guides and an lift car with 2 entrances, front and rear
On top of this the headroom was reduced and the pit also did not comply with current regulations.
At the end of the project we had been able to achieve a lift car much bigger than the existing in width and depth and had succeeded in flooding the stairwell with light
The final result enabled the owner of the top floor to achieve a substantially higher value for his property
